Whether you believe you can, or you believe you can’t, you are absolutely right”

Take a New Action!

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

“If you always do what you have always done, then you will always get what you have always got”
How can you possibly expect to get different results when you always take the same action? It is impossible! If you aren’t getting the results you want right now, you need to do something different. You need to take different action.
The world of dance is constantly evolving – dance teachers should go on regular courses and go to classes themselves to make sure they are always updating their skills and trying new things! For a fresh take on dance classes, come along for a free taster at Dancewise Studios!

Bad student? Bad teacher!

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

“There is no such thing as a bad student, only a bad teacher”
Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid

If a student isn’t getting what we are teaching, we believe it is our responsibility as teachers to ensure the student can pick it up. Maybe the student just needs us to phrase it differently, or be shown, have it analysed, be inspired, have it explained or any of the other tools in our teaching toolbox!

Requests for Alison’s Advanced Ballet and Open Contemporary Classes

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Any requests for Alison’s Contemporary Class 10th March? We’ve done some really diverse stuff recently (Deformography – Marilyn Manson, Mr Brightside – Killers, Feel My Love – Adele) and some contact improvisation. If you have any (sensible!) requests for next weeks class, post it and I’ll see what I can do! Same goes Advanced Ballet – if there’s anything you guys particularly want to cover let me know.
