Want the best in dance training? Email us to join one of our classes – whatever your age or abilities – from absolute beginners to professionals. Boys are very welcome at any classes.
Now the difficult bit.....which one to try first?!

Tap – you'll benefit from Alison's extensive tap knowledge in many styles of tap. Lessons follow the ISTD syllabus but are inspired by the influence of funky American tap and lots of 'tricks' that look wicked in performance! Alison's fresh approach to routines and freework makes every class motivating and exciting!

Irish – Think Riverdance! Irish Classes at Dancewise are engaging, energetic and modern. You'll learn lots of fast footwork a la Michael Flatley – no curly wigs or long socks here! Soft and hard shoe styles taught in each class. Crowd-pleasing routines that have audiences yelling for more!

Modern – just like it sounds, this dance style constantly evolves to stay bang up to date. Develop your flexibility, strength and style through all kinds of music from Latin to lyrical & jazz and blues to funk & Hip-hop.

Ballet – learn the poise, grace & flair that classical dance is famous for. Dancewise ballet teachers teach this traditional dance form in a fresh, modern way – if you’ve ever tried ballet and not enjoyed it, we challenge you to come to a Dancewise class and not leave with a massive smile on your face! Ballet how it should be!

Adult Tap – Alison's lively approach makes this class accessible for all abilities. You'll learn tap technique using music across many styles from Musicals to Michael Bublé and old classics to current chart hits. You also have the opportunity to work through syllabi if you want to be able to measure your progress. Enjoy it, get fit and have a blast!

Pointe Class – specialist class for senior ballet students who are en pointe or working towards it. This is what ballet dancers have dreamt of since they were tiny – and Miss Sarah B makes it happen! It can be challenging – which is why Miss Sarah uses a massive range of music to make it pleasurable and entertaining!

Musical Theatre & Drama – want to help your child succeed in life? Give the gift of musical theatre & drama classes and watch their self expression, confidence and performance skills GROW! Students develop acting skills in a variety of ways from games to scripted plays performed live and singing is improved with vocal exercises and learning hit songs from the best loved Musicals of all time.

Bronze/Silver gold/gold star Jazz/Street/Hip-hop – our renowned jazz programme! Jazz at Dancewise has it all – learn good, safe jazz technique while being inspired by the current trends of street dance and hip-hop learning popping, locking & breaking! Improve strength and flexibility and get funky!

Baby Ballet – a fantastical introduction to the world of classical ballet! Little ones will have so much fun as butterflies, bluebirds, Aladdin and mermaids that they don't even realise they are being introduced to the basics of classical dance! Miss Laura is exceptionally good with very young students making every class a positive experience.

Primary Modern – an exciting, fast paced introduction to modern dance – young ones will improve their coordination and spatial awareness to engaging music and imaginative choreography. Our expert team from baby ballet also take this class to ensure that primary modern is just as encouraging.

Adult Ballet – for beginners or improvers – Sarah W is adamant that this is no 'ballet-fit' class! It's a proper ballet class that will teach you good technique so you'll feel like you're dancing from day one in a very accessible, refreshing way whether you're new to ballet or returning to it. Sarah has outstanding skill in putting across her knowledge clearly without patronising. Tone up, learn/develop ballet as a skill and enjoy the social side of a ballet class designed with you in mind.

Boys Class – Dancewise has long been known for its specialist boys' programme. Taught by Thom, boys and young men are inspired by having a cool male teacher. They develop strength and fitness; learn hip routines and everyone feels like part of the boys' class team. Whether you want to dance, increase confidence or to see an improvement in other activities such as football, give the Dancewise Boys class a try!

Open Ballet Grades – a free class taken by ex-Elmhurst Ballet School Student, Miss Laura. No syllabus, just ballet for the pure enjoyment of dancing. Try steps you might not find in the graded classes, and see your standard in other classes increase rapidly! A must for senior students or those aspiring to pointe work.

Advanced Professional Ballet – This class is for you if you are an advanced student, a professional dancer or a dance teacher. Led by Alison, this free class has a lovely atmosphere - everyone works at their own level, developing their standard and being inspired by Alison to push themselves to heights they didn't know they could achieve!

Contemporary – a class drawing on many contemporary dance styles including Cunningham, Graham, and original choreography. Develop flexibility, fitness, strength and artistry as Alison takes you through this physical class with a very modern approach.

Impulse Rehearsals – a unique opportunity! By invitation/audition, as a member of Impulse Dance Company, you will rehearse Impulse's repertoire for their professional engagements throughout the year.

Street – a high energy dance style that was originally performed in parks, on the streets and in nightclubs. Now you can try it the Dancewise way! Try a range of street styles including hip-hop, popping, locking, breaking and jazz - all to the latest releases in music, in the comfort of our studios! Could you dance like you see on MTV? We can show you how! Street classes available for children of all ages, teens, adults and professionals.

fees

Dancewise discount, for families where more than one child attends or where one child attends multiple classes, is 10% off the second and third classes from your term's bill. Fees are payable termly in advance and are due on the first lesson of term or 7 days after invoice date for new starters.

Cheques payable to Dancewise Studios. If paying in advance poses a problem, please discuss with the Principal to find an acceptable alternative arrangement. If you wish to withdraw your child from a class, Dancewise needs a term’s written notice or fees in lieu.
