When I got to the office, Alison showed me how to send out invoices for classes by email and then I took over once I knew how to do it with Alison helping me.
We had lunch next, and then finished off the invoices before getting changed into dance clothes to go to the studios.
When we got there, I helped Jan set everything up and made sure everything was ready for Sarah, then I helped her with her classes while Alison was doing Irish Gradings.
The first day week 2 of my work experience.
The first job I did was doing my blog for Friday, then I helped Jan in the wardrobe department.
Next we had lunch and then I added a new family onto the database. Next I did some filing for Alison then got changed into dance clothing, then off we went to the studio. When we arrived at the studios, Jan explained the Groupon offer we had been running. Next I had a tea break and then helped Alison teach. After that I met Sarah who teaches Zumba! I joined in the Zumba class, which I really enjoyed and would love to do again!
Last day of my first week at Dancewise!
When I arrived at the office, I entered payments onto customer accounts with Alison and saw how Dancewise had performed in June.
Then I unpicked some bows from some costumes and then hung them on the line to air. When I finished that, I checked off the costumes to see they had all been returned.
Then after finishing with the costumes, I did some more updates to publicity and then I helped Jan name the Zumba Cards that people had ordered, then I had lunch.
After lunch, Jan and I went on the computer and did the accounts, then we did some more costumes placing them back into the correct boxes.
When we finished with the costumes, I got changed and then we went to the studios, where I helped in Alison’s classes.
After watching 3 classes, my work day had come to an end. It was a very good first week at Dancewise and I’ve enjoyed working with Alison and Jan!
The first job when I arrived was to write up my blog for yesterday on the computer, then Alison showed me how to put that on the Dancewise website and showed me how to link it on the Dancewise Facebook page, so people can see what I’ve been up to!
After finishing with my blog, I unpicked some trims from some costumes and then I cut out articles about Dancewise for the press file.
After I finished that, Alison and I started to look at the Dancewise Dollars! Parents get these special vouchers to spend at Dancewise! We made a list of who needed what, then I put the names of the parents on them so I could hand out when we got to the studios. Then we had lunch!
After lunch, Alison and I did the accounts and then I was worked on some publicity material.
I got into my dance clothing and went to the studios then I helped in classes and finished off working on my leaflets.
