2011 Show – ‘Live the Dream’
Dancewise Studios, the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton
Karen Robson – Southern Daily Echo
This might have been the Dancewise Studios’ first time at the Nuffield Theatre, but they fitted right in, producing a show that was varied, visually exciting and professional.
Taking the theme of dreams, nightmares and aspirations, it was a well-conceived showcase for the talents of the staff and students.
The standard of dance, as might be expected, was high. The Irish dance pieces particularly stood out for their energy and precision.
Credit should be given to the two young winners of the choreography prize, Natasja and Trinity Bracewell, for their delightful interpretation of My Boy Lollipop. The Dancewise Studios staff created some stylish, exciting and arresting dance pieces. Requiem for a Dream was a stand-out piece on all levels.
This was an evening of aspiration and inspiration, a sheer delight.
